Information For Nursery Nurses

COVER is now welcoming applications from Nursery Nurses/Nursery Assistants interested in working in Nursery and Reception classes within Primary Schools.

Nursery Nurses play an important role as part of the Early Years team under the direction of the class teacher to provide safe, high quality education and care for young children.
In order to join our team of Nursery Nurses, candidates must:

  • Hold a Level 3 Nursery Nurse qualification including one of the following; NVQ Level 3 in Childcare and Education, NNEB Diploma, BTEC Diploma in Childhood Studies
  • Have a good basic education to GCSE level in literacy and numeracy, or the equivalent
  • Have experience of working with children in EYFS setting and understanding of EYFS framework
  • Be able to help provide a variety of curriculum activities, which create a stimulating atmosphere where the children are able to explore, experiment and make discoveries during their play within a safe setting.
  • Possess skills of empathy, listening, communication and be able to respond with appropriate language to build rapport with children and carers from a variety of ages, abilities and cultural backgrounds.
  • Work constructively as part of a team, understanding classroom roles and responsibilities and your own position within these.
  • Have knowledge of policies and procedures relating to child protection.
  • Be punctual and reliable.
